What does smekkar cost?
EUR 5.99 per month. There is only this one plan — no tiers, no add-ons. Details on thepricing page.
Do I need a card for the trial?
No. The 14 days start with no payment details at all. If you do not subscribe afterwards nothing is charged — your account moves to read-only mode.
How do I cancel?
In Settings, under "Subscription". Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you paid for; until then nothing changes.
What happens when my subscription ends?
Your account stays. You can keep reading, export your data, delete your account, reach support and resubscribe whenever you like. Only writing pauses.
Does smekkar work offline?
The shopping list does — it is built to work in the shop with no signal and to sync afterwards. Logbook entries can be made offline too; they are queued and sync later. Browsing recipes and the plan need a connection.
Which devices does smekkar run on?
iPhone and iPad, Android devices, and the browser. Your account is the same everywhere.
Which languages does smekkar speak?
German and English — the app, this site and the content. More languages are prepared technically but not promised yet.
What happens to my health data?
Health details (height, weight, a goal) are entirely optional and sit behind their own explicit consent. They are additionally encrypted, our team cannot read them, and withdrawing the consent deletes them. More in theprivacy policy.
Can I export my data?
Yes, at any time and by yourself: start an export in Settings and receive your data as machine-readable files together with your media. The download is single-use and expires after seven days.
How do I delete my account?
Also in Settings. Deletion is followed by a 14-day grace period in which logging in brings the account back; after that it is removed for good. References in other people's content are anonymised.
Are there ads or tracking?
No. No ads, no third-party analytics, no data sales. This website sets no cookies at all; the app uses two strictly necessary cookies (session and CSRF protection).
Can I cook together with friends?
Yes. You can add friends, share a cooking circle and send a guest invitation for a single meal. What is shared is your decision, per setting and per invitation.
Where do the nutrition values come from?
From an ingredient and product database we maintain. Some product values are derived from Open Food Facts; wherever such a value is shown, the app credits the source and its licence. Where a value is missing we say so openly instead of estimating.
