As a small business under § 19 UStG (German VAT Act) no VAT is charged and none is shown. The price stated is the final price. (This statement is still pending tax confirmation.)

What is included

• 14 days free — no payment details. You enter them only once you decide.
• Everything: recipes, cooking mode, the weekly plan, the shopping list, the logbook, nutrition, cooking circles and guests.
• Both languages, every device: iPhone, Android and the browser.
• Invoices arrive by e-mail.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time. The subscription then runs to the end of the period you have already paid for — nothing is pro-rated and nothing is switched off early.

If a payment fails

You keep full access for seven days, so an expired card does not shut down your weekly plan mid-week. We write to you; if the payment goes through in that window, nothing else changes for you.

What read-only mode keeps

If your subscription ends, your account is not deleted and your data stays yours. In read-only mode you can still:

• read your recipes, plans, lists and logbook,
• export all of your data,
• delete your account,
• reach support,
• and resubscribe whenever you like — everything is back immediately.

What pauses is writing: creating, editing and ticking things off.

Why does it cost anything?

Because the alternatives are ads and data trading. A service funded by ads has to sell your attention; a service funded by data has to watch you. smekkar is funded by subscriptions — and so owes nothing to anyone but you. No tracking, no ads, no resale, ever.
